Wait, What's ZohZohDoh?
Welcome to the World of ZohZohDoh!
Unlocking the Mystery of this curious word: What It Means and Why It Matters.
In Japanese, the pronunciation of "zou" is often rendered as "zoh" in casual speech, though not typically in writing. The pronunciation "Zouzoudou" is more precise and formal compared to "ZohZohDoh." We intentionally chose "zoh" over "zou" for the name.
The term "zohzoh" or "zouzou" carries the meaning of sculpting or creating statues, particularly in a historical context referring to Buddhist statues. The first kanji character "zou" (造) in "zouzou" signifies large-scale creation. It is used in words related to constructing buildings, ships, brewing beer, and more.
The second "zou" (像), though pronounced the same, relates to imagery and representation:
1. Gazou (画像) – "Zou" here refers to still images, pictures, or photos, while "ga" represents "picture" in a single kanji.
2. Eizou (映像) – In this term, "zou" pertains to motion pictures, videos, or movies, with "ei" meaning projection or reflection.
3. Shazou (写像) – Here, "zou" signifies mapping or the shape of a shadow, while "sha" conveys the meaning of a snapshot.
The "doh" (堂) in ZohZohDoh is not inspired by Homer or Play-Doh—though I like them both! This kanji means "hall," specifically referring to the main hall of a temple or shrine. And, Dendou (殿堂) - literally a big huge hall, is equal to a hall of fame.
So, now, you've found meaning of the ZohZohDoh from sacred halls to the supernova!
Already, you are familiar with that the sound "Zoh" in Japanese has various piece of creativity and "Doh" is not just meaning playful feeling, but also contains the spirits of fame.
OK! That's the story of ZohZohDoh and our small 'dou' has just began. :)
Anyway, I hope you have fun and enjoy ZohZohDoh!
